Mushroom Mania is back again this year and itand#8217;s bigger and better than ever!
What is Mushroom Mania?
Itand#8217;s an exciting month-long event in July each year where restaurants put delicious, seasonal mushrooms on the menu and make them the star. More than 2,000 restaurants all across Australia are participating this year.
For the past few years I have worked with the Australian Mushroom Growers Association to recruit bloggers to go and review these restaurants and write about them on their blogs. However, you donand#8217;t have to be a blogger to be part of the fun, you can win a $150 restaurant voucher just by doing a quick review of your favourite local restaurants mushroom dish. Thereand#8217;s one to win every week in July. Scroll down to the end of the post for full details on how to enter.
For now, letand#8217;s take a look and some of the drool-worthy photos from some of Australiaand#8217;s best bloggers. Click the restaurant names to go straight through and read the reviews.
First up, The Food Pornographer, in Perth. Thatand#8217;s her photo above of the delicious mushroom burger at The Secret Garden Cafe.
Next, also from WA is from the food blog ChompChomp and is a very pretty risotto with truffle oil from Millbrook Winery. ChompChomp was also lucky enough to go mushroom foraging and мейд a delicious polenta with roasted field mushrooms and porcini.
Moving along to VIC with the Footscray Food Blog who has been a busy mushroom eater and done two reviews already. Read all about her experiences at The Courthouse and Pepper. Above is the warm mushroom salad she had at Pepper, so yummy.
Now onto SA where She Cooks She Gardens has managed to find one of the prettiest plates of risotto I have ever seen! She ate this gorgeous dish at The Store in North Adelaide.
Last but not least, there is Claire K Creations in QLD who reviewed a risotto (which was sadly a bit watery) at Gusto Da Gianni in Brisbane. Click through to check out her review for the lovely pictures of the restaurantand#8217;s quirky decor.
